Why we stock it
A beef hoof with a mincemeat filling packed into the hollow, which is why it has two chewiness ratings: the filling rates a 2 and the hoof itself a 5. The dog gets a quick reward then has to earn the rest. Same warning as every hoof — a 5 out of 5 shell is genuinely hard and the wrong choice for a dog with anything less than strong adult teeth.
What it is
Beef hoof with a mincemeat filling. The filling rates 2 of 5 on the Pets Elite chewiness scale and the hoof itself rates 5 of 5. Size and shape vary naturally. Available as a pack of 5 or a tub of 10.
Ingredients
Beef (hoof and mincemeat filling), vinegar.
Vinegar is used during dehydration as a natural preservative. No grain, no added salt or sugar, no colourants or flavourants.
Feeding and use
Always supervise, with fresh water alongside. Remove the hoof if sharp edges develop or once it is small enough to swallow. Store cool and dry.
Suited to
- Power chewers with strong adult teeth
- Dogs who need a reward before the work
- Medium and large breeds
- Multi-dog households — the tub of 10 goes further
Not suited to
- Puppies and dogs with developing teeth
- Older dogs with worn teeth
- Dogs on a beef-free elimination diet
- Dogs that gulp rather than chew
Safety
The hoof shell is very hard and can splinter as it wears. Supervise every session and stop using it once edges become sharp.
