Why we stock it

Most training treats are either too big to hand over repeatedly or too soft to survive a pocket. These are cut to roughly 15mm and hold their shape in a bag, which is the practical reason they are here. Three dehydrated meats and vinegar, nothing else — worth knowing when you are giving twenty of them in a half-hour session. We would not sell it as a dental chew. It is too soft for that, and Pets Elite makes better options if teeth are what you are after.

What it is

A mix of liver biltong, puppy chews and dry sausage, dehydrated and cut into pieces of about 15mm by 15mm. Sizes vary a little, because the meat does. The 110g jar is resealable and fits a coat pocket or a car door bin. The 220g pack is a refill for that jar — treats only, no jar included, and it fills the jar roughly twice. Texture rates 2 to 3 on the Pets Elite chewyness scale, where 1 is very soft and 5 is very hard.

Ingredients

Beef liver, pork, beef (dry sausage), vinegar.

Vinegar is used during dehydration as a natural preservative. No grain, no added salt or sugar, no colourants or flavourants.

Feeding and use

Give a few pieces per session as a reward. Treats of any kind should stay under about 10% of what your dog eats in a day. Fresh water alongside.

• Puppies and older dogs who need something soft
• Owners who want a treat they can carry all day

Not suited to

• Dogs who need a long-lasting chew — these are gone in seconds, by design
• Dogs on a pork-free or beef-free elimination diet
• Dogs being fed for dental health specifically
