Why we stock it
Ostrich is a genuinely different protein to beef or chicken, which makes this a useful option for dogs on an elimination diet or with a suspected sensitivity to the more common proteins. It is still organ meat, so the same moderation advice applies as any liver treat.
What it is
South African ostrich liver, dried into bite-sized biltong-style pieces and preserved with vinegar. Rates 3 of 5 on the Pets Elite chewyness scale. 90g pack.
Ingredients
Ostrich liver, vinegar.
Vinegar is used during dehydration as a natural preservative. No grain, no added salt or sugar, no colourants or flavourants.
Feeding and use
Give under supervision, with fresh water alongside. Take it away once it is small enough to swallow whole. Chews and treats should stay under about 10% of what your dog eats in a day. Organ meat is rich — introduce gradually and keep portions small.
